The South Carolina Gamecocks and the Illinois Fighting Illini meet for the Citrus Bowl. The bowl matchup is December 31, 2024, starting at 3 p.m. ET, airing on ABC.
The Gamecocks head into the matchup after winning 17-14 over the Clemson Tigers in their last outing on Nov. 30. The Fighting Illini are coming off of a victory over the Northwestern Wildcats by the score of 38-28. LaNorris Sellers had 164 yards on 13-of-21 passing (61.9%) for the Gamecocks in that matchup against the Tigers, with no touchdowns and one interception. He also added 16 carries for 166 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Raheim Sanders totaled 60 rushing yards on 18 carries (3.3 yards per carry). He also had three catches for 48 yards. Nyck Harbor led the receiving charge against the Tigers, catching three passes for 51 yards. Luke Altmyer put up 170 passing yards while going 10-for-17 with one touchdown and two interceptions for the Illini against the Wildcats. He added three carries for -23 yards and one touchdown. In that matchup, Aidan Laughery had a 12-carry, 172-yard game (14.3 yards per attempt) with three touchdowns. Pat Bryant recorded four catches for 70 yards (on seven targets), with one touchdown.
