The Holiday Bowl sees the Syracuse Orange and the Washington State Cougars take the field on Friday, December 27, 2024. The matchup kicks off at 8 p.m. ET and airs on FOX.
The Orange played the Miami (FL) Hurricanes in their most recent game, winning 42-38. The Cougars are coming off of a 15-14 loss to the Wyoming Cowboys. Kyle McCord threw for 380 yards, with three touchdowns and no interceptions on 26-of-36 passing (72.2%) for the Orange in that matchup against the Hurricanes. LeQuint Allen carried the ball 22 times for 82 yards (3.7 yards per carry) with two touchdowns on the ground. He also had six receptions for 61 yards. Trebor Pena hauled in six receptions for 128 yards (averaging 21.3 per catch), while scoring one touchdown against the Hurricanes. John Mateer went 16-for-22 with 182 yards, one touchdown and one interception for the Cougs against the Cowboys. He also rushed 18 times for 56 yards and one touchdown. Wayshawn Parker carried the ball 14 times for 45 yards (3.2 yards per attempt). In the passing game, he added two catches for 15 yards. Kris Hutson caught five passes for 62 yards (12.4 yards per catch).
