Some of the most coveted colorways of Devin Booker’s debut signature sneaker have been exclusive to the man himself, and that trend continued Saturday when the Phoenix Suns star debuted a new version of the Nike Book 1 inspired by one of the brand’s classic running sneakers.
For the Phoenix Suns’ Saturday road game against the Miami Heat, Booker laced up a previously unseen Nike Book 1 in a “Solar Red” PE inspired by the Air Max 95 colorway of the same name. The color blocking and accents of Booker’s signature sneaker mimicked that of the Air Max 95, mixing various gray shades for a gradient look that was capped off by bright red accents on the liner and branding. The shoe’s tongue referenced the Air Max 95’s split oval logo, replacing the usual “Air Max” branding with “Book.”
The “Solar Red” player edition Book 1 colorway has received a positive reaction from fans on social media, but many have expressed frustration that the more desirable versions of the sneaker haven’t been released to the public. Thus far, Booker has worn pairs inspired by Kobe Bryant’s Nike Kobe 1, the “Shattered Backboard” Air Jordan 1 and more. He’s also previously worn another Air Max 95-themed look in the sneaker’s classic “Neon” style.
One fan-favorite Nike Book 1 that has been exclusive to Booker, the “1995 All-Star” colorway he wore during the 2024 NBA All-Star Game, is expected to be released during summer 2025.
Like many of the Book 1 player edition sneakers Booker has worn, it’s unlikely that this pair will make it to retail. However, fans can shop other colorways of the Nike Book 1 now from nike.com.
The sneaker retails for $140 and select pairs are on sale for $119.97 with an additional 25 percent taken off with use of the promo code “MOMENT.”
