Australia skipper Pat Cummins, who starred in the recently-concluded Test match against India in Adelaide gave his opinion on the heated exchange between Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head which took place on the second day of the Test.
Staying true to his calm nature, Cummins said that he isn’t concerned with what India does in the middle as his focus is just on his team and teammates.
“To be honest, they (India) can do whatever they want. I’m more worried about our boys but like always I thought our boys’ behaviour was excellent this week like it seems to be every week. It’s heated, it’s a big series. There’s been packed crowds all of the days so there’s a lot riding on it,” Cummins said at the post-match press conference.
“As a general rule, you let the boys be themselves. If you need to step in and intervene then as captain I would, but for our group I never really feel like I’ve had to do that. Travis Head is vice-captain of the team. He’s a big boy, he can talk for himself,” Cummins added.
Siraj and Head were involved in a heated argument during the Adelaide Test. Things really got heated when Siraj dismissed Head and gave him a fiery send-off, an act which wasn’t taken too kindly by the Australia batter.
Head later claimed that he told Siraj ‘well bowled’ when the pacer went about his fiery celebration. However, the India seamer said that the batter did not say any such thing and was “lying.”
