But the Reds brass are now said to have offered the Egypt international a new contract.
That’s according to The Mirror, who claim Salah is on the brink of penning a new two-year deal at Anfield.
Salah is said to have demanded a new three-year deal to commit his future to the club, who were reportedly only willing to offer him a new one-year contract.
Both parties, however, are said to have recently reached a “compromise” over a new two-year contract.
News of Salah’s reported new two-year deal come just days after ex-Egypt international Haytham Farouk claimed the former Chelsea and Roma man had inked a new contract.
Along with a picture of himself and Salah, he wrote on X: “Congratulations on renewing your contract with the number you like and the period you want.
“The Egyptian king rules with his own judgments.”
