One Serie A star, who Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made advances for, has made an interesting statement about his plans.
The player in question is Davide Frattesi, who impressed on loan last season at Inter but has not been a regular in their starting eleven since his permanent switch from Sassuolo back in the summer.
It first emerged last week that Tottenham are fans of the 25-year-old and see him as a potential option to bolster their midfield.
Just a few days ago, it was reported by Spazio Inter that the North London club would be willing to offer €35m (£29m) for the midfielder in January.
The aforementioned report in Spazio Inter suggested that the 25-year-old may ask to leave in light of his lack of game time and that the Nerazzurri would be tempted to accept such an offer.
However, in light of the injury to Nicolo Barella, Frattesi has started the last couple of matches for Simone Inzaghi’s side, and the midfielder has now addressed his situation.
When asked about his season, the midfielder said (InterTV via FC Inter News): “This season I have more confidence. I’m continuing the work that I started last season. But it isn’t finished.”
Frattesi certainly does not sound like someone who is keen to jump ship in January, with the midfielder seemingly determined to prove himself at the San Siro.
That does not mean Tottenham will not test the waters in January as the Premier League side might feel that they can tempt Inter into a sale if they make a sufficiently high enough offer.
