Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe believes that if Tottenham fans start chanting ‘Daniel Levy out’, the situation might not end well for Ange Postecoglou.
There is no hiding from the fact that Postecoglou‘s job is now under scrutiny, with the Tottenham head coach needing to turn things around swiftly if he is to continue at his job.
While many Spurs fans are at the end of their patience with the Australian, others point the finger at Daniel Levy, suggesting that the Tottenham chairman has once again failed to back another manager.
Based on the sentiment on social media, one would not rule out the possibility of fans directing their anger at Levy during Sunday’s game against Chelsea.
Paul O Keefe believes that if the supporters start chanting for Levy to leave, the Spurs chairman will react by sacking Postecoglou. He pointed out that the 62-year-old has got rid of managers in the past when fans have turned on him.
O Keefe said (via Patreon): “Daniel Levy is very reactive, if in the ground the fans start chanting about ‘Levy Out’ and really going for Levy, that generally signals the end because in truth he is a bit of a coward, and normally what happens is that the manager bites the bullet.
“How the fans react is key because if they start going for Levy personally then the end for Ange is nye, he’s not a proactive chairman he’s a reactive one.
“The minute the fans turn on him personally as we saw with Nuno, Conte, Jose the minute it gets sticky, the manager perishes at Tottenham, and with all the current players out I can’t see results drastically turning around.”
No matter how much Spurs fans chant ‘Levy out’ or what kind of demonstrations they organise, it is going to be next to impossible to force Levy or ENIC to sell the club unless a sufficiently big enough offer is on the table.
Meanwhile, rebuilding the squad takes at least a few transfer windows. That is why the manager is always the one in the firing line when things are going array as he is the easiest to replace.
