Mac Jones turned in another frustrating performance for the Jacksonville Jaguars with two interceptions in Week 14. Nonetheless, the group did enough to earn a 10-6 divisional win over the Tennessee Titans on the road.
The win marked the quarterback’s first as the starter in Jacksonville after a pair of losses in previous starts. The further the fourth-year quarterback goes on his football journey, the more appreciative he appears to be of week-to-week victories in the NFL.
“Honestly, it was good for us,” Jones told CBS Sports’ AJ Ross Sunday. “It’s tough to win in the NFL. I’ve learned that the hard way. You’ll take any win you can get. The defense deserves a lot of credit for this one. We gotta do it again next week.”
Jones is right. That’s been the case for him, both with the Jaguars and the New England Patriots. The passer had success as a rookie with a 10-win season and a playoff berth with New England. The three years since then have not been as kind to Jones. He’s racked up a 9-19 record and moved to his second team after the Patriots originally selected him as a first-rounder in 2021.
Jones hopes to find some NFL stability in the final season of his rookie deal.
