My wife won’t have sex now our daughter has moved back home with us

DEAR DEIDRE: MY wife has completely gone off sex since our daughter moved back home.

I’m 56 and my missus is 54. We’ve been together for 30 years. Our daughter’s 27.

She moved back home when her relationship ended, having been with her partner since they were at university together.

She said she was only going to be with us for a few weeks as she had arranged to share a flat with a couple of friends, but this fell through.

Having her back at home is ruining our marriage because my wife no longer wants to have sex.

I’ve tried numerous times to talk to her but she just says I’m being dramatic and changes the subject.

I’m so frustrated. We’re not too old to have a sex life so how can I rekindle my wife’s interest?

Perhaps the lack of privacy is now an issue.

There must be times when your daughter isn’t there, when she’s working or out with her friends.

Menopause, stress and generally feeling low can affect libido so try to ascertain if there are other possible causes.

Make sure your wife is not using this as an excuse.

Tell your wife how much you love her, but that you can’t tolerate a sexless relationship.
