DEAR DEIDRE: ALTHOUGH I desperately want surgery for my man-boobs, I simply can’t afford it. They make me so miserable.
I am a single 24-year-old guy. I never wear T-shirts because I feel like a freak.
I try to hide them with baggy sweatshirts.
There is nothing I can do. I am so self-conscious.
I feel like every time I go out people are looking at me.
It makes me feel so down and it’s no surprise I’m not in a relationship.
I think women would find my boobs a turn-off.
My colleagues just laugh and joke. They think it is funny.
Sometimes they wolf-whistle when I walk past or try to touch me.
I used to like working out at the gym but never go now. Even going to the shops is a chore. I feel suicidal.

DEIDRE SAYS: Please talk to your doctor urgently. Don’t suffer in silence.
You might have a hormone imbalance or be overweight, which can also be a contributing factor.
Either way, there is help and treatment available.
Your colleagues’ behaviour is unacceptable bullying and you shouldn’t have to put up with it.
If you laugh off their comments they may not realise how hurtful their behaviour is.
Try to ignore them and appear not to care. They will soon get bored if they don’t get a reaction from you.
If they persist, talk to your line manager, your boss or Acas, which gives independent advice on workplace issues (acas.org.uk, 0300 123 1100).
Every problem gets a personal reply, usually within 24 hours weekdays.
