The Clippers travelled over the hump Saturday night to take on the Alberni Valley Bulldogs. The result was a 3-2 victory for the Clippers.
The first period was scoreless, with the shots on goal being 22-15 in the Clippers' favour.
In the second period, the Clippers would score first on the power play when #9 Cole Lonsdale's shot found the back of the net. Luke Lavery and Andrew Brown drew the assists on the goal. Then, less than two minutes later, the Bulldogs would even the score at 1-2. Shots on goal in the second were 13-9 favouring the Clippers.
The third period would see the Clippers score two goals 27 seconds apart to take a 3-1 lead.
The third period would see the Chiefs scoring twice to make it a 3-1 game. #23 Carson Lesiuk would score at the 12:24 mark to make it 3-2. Late in the period, the Clippers would pull #31 Otto Nuto for a sixth attacker. Only to have the Chiefs score an empty netter at 19:09.
Nanaimo outshot the Chiefs 17-7 in the third and 35-33 for the game. With a minute and five seconds left in the game, Alberni would pull their goaltender. It paid off, as they scored with 45 seconds left to make it a 3-2 game. However, that was all they were able to do, as the Clippers shut them out for the final seconds.
Shots on goal in the third were 15-9 in Alberni's favour for a three-period total of 44 shots for Nanaimo and 39 for Alberni.

The Clippers' next game two games are at home. They face the same Alberni Valley Bulldogs on Friday, December 13th and then the Victoria Grizzlies on Saturday, December 14th. Both games are at 7 p.m. at The Frank.
