Punjab's municipal elections are scheduled for December 21st, as announced by the State Election Commission. Voting for five municipal corporations and 44 municipal councils and nagar panchayats will occur from 7 am to 4 pm. The model code of conduct is now in effect. Nominations open December 9th, closing December 12th. Over 3.7 million voters are eligible to participate.
