Last weekend, Apple Martin debuted at Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris. She looked fab; Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin consciously recoupled to support her; and everything was going smoothly. That is, until a TikTok went viral of her exhibiting what commenters were quick to call “mean girl behavior.” Now, the girl Apple was allegedly being mean to is speaking out to say that Goop’s daughter is actually, like, sooo nice.
In the video, Aliénor Loppin de Montmort is having her photo taken and Apple jumps into frame and poses. Loppin de Montmort smiles, and some people have read her expression as “Wow, that was rude.” She’s now setting the record straight.
“[Apple’s] genuinely the nicest girl ever! She really doesn’t deserve an ounce of what she’s getting,” Loppin de Montmort told People. “She was the nicest girl ever toward not only me but all the debs!”
I’m banging the gavel. Apple Martin has been declared not mean by a jury of her peer. Congrats to her defense team (a.k.a. whoever it was who got Loppin de Montmort to talk).
