For AAFA Seniors and Parents

Seniors and Parents,

The first part of the year is almost done and you’re probably preparing for your final semester of high school!  We’re sure this will be a busy year for you!

I’m creating a section just for our seniors and their family members.  I’m in a unique position that my full time job is a School Liaison Officer for Fort Liberty and I can answer a good bit of questions about post-secondary preparation, such as applying for college, scholarships, FAFSA, and Financial Aid.

PLEASE don’t let opportunities pass you by because an application may be confusing or unclear.  Don’t hesitate to contact me for any questions you may have about college, scholarships, FAFSA, and Financial Aid.  I’ve had 2 enter college, and your fellow teammate, Isabelle, my daughter, is also a senior going through the same process.

 Remember, if you need a recommendation letter for, I’ll be happy to do so.  Some quick tips having me do a recommendation letter for you.:

I know you as a fencer and what you do at the club.  Help me write a good recommendation by providing some information that will be helpful for me to know when writing your recommendation:

• What the application is for, specific school or specific scholarship.  Or if you like, I can write a general recommendation letter that can be used for both.
• Academic information (GPA, rank, courses taken, special schools attended, etc.)
• Honors or awards received outside of fencing
• Other activities during the school year
• Community Service, Community Engagement and Volunteering
