America’s Got Talent finalist Kabir Singh has died, Parade reported. He was 39.
The genial comedian was a finalist on the 16th season of the hit variety show in 2021. He passed away on Dec. 4, his girlfriend confirmed on social media. TMZ, the first to report the news, confirmed that a toxicology report was being conducted to determine what Singh had in his body at the time of death.
However, those close to the entertainer say he’d been suffering health issues in recent months and that his death was likely due to natural causes. Early reports suggested Singh was in San Francisco when he died.
Jeremy Curry, Singh’s close friend and a fellow comic, posted a heartwarming tribute to his late friend. “It’s my deepest regrets [sic] to let everyone know that Kabir Singh has passed away,” Curry wrote on Facebook alongside a photo of the two hanging out. Curry added that Singh “passed away peacefully in his sleep.
“This is the most devastating post I’ve posted,” Curry continued. “Please keep his family and fiancé in your thoughts and prayers. I love you, bro,” he ended the post.
In addition to America’s Got Talent, Singh appeared on Family Guy and was a frequent guest on panel programs on Comedy Central and the BBC. His final stand-up set was performed on Nov. 2 in Manteca, CA.
