Every husband is guilty of forgetting something about their spouse’s personal history, but if your wife is Scarlett Johansson, you’d think you’d do your best to remember as many details as possible. In promoting his brand-new TV series, Pop Culture Jeopardy!, everyman husband Colin Jost failed to remember one essential piece of information about his wife’s background, and the result was fairly hilarious.
While on The Today Show talking about hosting his new show, Pop Culture Jeopardy!, Jost was hit with some rapid-fire questions from host Savannah Guthrie, which culminated in a video clue in which Scarlett Johansson asked Colin Jost, “What is the origin country of my last name?”
The correct answer is that the name “Johansson” comes from Sweden, but Jost answered confidently “What is Denmark.” Johansson noted that she “knew he would get it wrong.”

Pop Culture Jeopardy! is similar to regular Jeopardy!, but this time as Jost explained, the game is played in teams, making it “closer to bar trivia.”
The categories are entirely focused on TV, film, art, music, and books. Basically, this is Jeopardy! for people who are fuzzy on animal kingdom definitions but can easily recall, from memory, the release order of all the American versions of The Beatles albums. Chuck Klosterman and Rob Sheffield haven’t been guests on Pop Culture Jeopardy!, but one would imagine reading books like that would be excellent prep for getting on the show. That said, Jost noted that he thought “Pop Culture Jeopardy was harder than regular Jeopardy.”
