THE most complained about shows of 2024 have been revealed – as ITV dominate complaints – including one of their biggest soaps.
The spotlight is well and truly on the broadcaster after TV watchdog Ofcom revealed this year’s ‘hit list’.
Good Morning Britain is officially the most complained programme, with a whopping 19,832 complaints in total.
The Susanna Reid-led breakfast show came under fire from 8,000 viewers for their immigration policy debate earlier this year.
Ofcom says its “outspoken presenters” and on air-debates have contributed it landing the top spot.
ITV reality show Love Island comes second with significantly less complaints – 2,903 to be exact.
Joey Essex‘s appearance in the Majorca villa and his on-screen behaviour didn’t go down well with fans.
In a shock, Emmerdale has ranked in third place with 1,471 complaints over their domestic abuse storyline involving characters Belle Dingle and Tom King.
Viewers have watched Belle break free from Tom after he emotionally and physically abused her.
Closely following in fourth place is this year’s Big Brother – which enraged a total of 1,437 grievances.
The ITV2 show found itself at the centre of an anti-Semitism row after winner Ali, 38, wore a top depicting a map of Israel as a watermelon in the house.
The symbol, widely associated with anti-Israel sentiment, sparked claims the channel was allowing “genocidal” views to be broadcast to millions of viewers.
In another hit to ITV, This Morning was ranked as the fifth most complained about show of the year – attracting 1,264 angry viewers.
The complaints relate to adult content creator Bonnie Blue appearing on the sofa to discuss her job, where she made provocative comments about her work.
Married At First Sight ranked sixth with 1,170 complaints, Sunak v Starmer: The ITV1 Debate was seventh with 686 and GB News’ People’s Forum: The Prime Minister had 535 complaints.
