The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
After a very chilly start to the day (many were in the teens!), temperatures rise only to the mid 30's this afternoon - 5 to 10 degrees below average. A few flurries or light snow showers could sneak in from the west, but shouldn't amount to much in the way of accumulation.
Better snow chances as a bigger storm system moves in around sunset Wednesday. Snow showers will continue consistently overnight, and on and off into the day Thursday.
Many in the Capital District can expect to pick up a couple inches of fresh snow. Favored locations in the southern Adirondacks and high spots in the Green Mountains could pick up a half foot or more.
It will be turning awfully windy as this system pushes through the area, and will stay that way even as sunshine returns Friday. That looks to be an especially cold day, with highs only in the 20's and the wind making it feel even cooler.
A few snow showers are possible to our north on Saturday. Sunday looks quiet, then slightly warmer conditions on Monday mean that rain and snow showers are both possible on Monday.
