Our journey south into England provided an opportunity to visit the town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. Situated on the mouth of the river Tweed this ancient town is the northernmost town in all of England. For centuries this town was central to historic border wars between the Kingdoms of England and Scotland, and several times possession of Berwick changed hands between the two kingdoms. We enjoyed a very windy walk aound the town and it old fortifications.
