A commotion erupted in the early afternoon hours outside the home, as two women spoke emotionally with police officers.
At the scene, officers moved in and out of a large apartment building.
In the parking lot adjacent to the building, there were a handful of evidence markers and shell casings visible.
Hours after the shooting, the lot and building entrance remained sectioned off with crime tape.
Neighbors declined to speak with Sun-Times reporters, and police have not announced any arrests in the case.
Area 1 detectives were investigating.
