Indian team still face a few important barricade and are also mainly dependent on Sri Lana and South Africa to secure their spot in the finals. Anything that is less than a 3-1 series win is going to make the situation complicated, and is going to result in the qualification being dependent on the performance of Sri Lanka and South Africa.

If India wins the series with one match lost, they will still qualify unless South Africa wins over Sri Lanka in their home grounds during the second Test.

If Indian team wins the series with 2 matches lost and want to stay in the competition, Sri Lanka would be needing to draw at least one game against Australia in the upcoming series.
