Everyone wants to know where Juan Soto is going to play baseball for the next decade-plus.
The baseball world has heard that both New York teams are making aggressive pushes to sign the superstar outfielder. The Boston Red Sox also appear very much in the mix for Soto, who might actually receive the richest offer from the Toronto Blue Jays. And when it comes to a financial arm’s race, the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers never can be ruled out.
But as it stands, Soto’s preferences reportedly are being kept very much under wraps.
“I don’t think anyone knows where Juan wants to play except for Juan and (agent Scott) Boras, and maybe Juan’s family,” a “well-placed league source” told SNY’s Andy Martino.
Thus, MLB fans will have to remain patient while the Soto sweepstakes unfold. The race is expected to intensify next week when some of the most powerful people in the sport congregate in Dallas for the winter meetings.
Until then, it’s probably wise to take most reports and rumors about Soto with a grain of salt.
