Manchester United are one of the clubs monitoring the situation of Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson, according to Sky Sports Germany.
The Red Devils will face fierce competition from the likes of Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig for the services of the 20-year-old Sweden international, who is valued at around €50 million by his club.
Man United want to bolster their midfield going forward, with both Christian Eriksen and Casemiro likely to leave the club at the end of the season, and Larsson has emerged as a target.
The official Bundesliga website describes the style of play of the Swede as a combination of Manchester City duo Rodri and Kevin de Bruyne.
The Man United target is an expert breaker-up-of-play, and his close control, skills, and technical ability to break lines and thread killer-through balls have put him on the radar of the biggest clubs in Europe.
Larsson has four goals across all competitions so far this term and will fit perfectly into the style of play of Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim.
However, convincing him to join Man United could prove tricky as Madrid are very serious about signing him, and joining them ahead of other suitors would be more appealing.
The Old Trafford club will need to qualify for the Champions League next season to have any chance of convincing Larsson, and their chances of finishing in the top-four appear slim right now despite their decent start to life under Amorim.
Man United need one or two midfield signings ahead of next season, and getting someone with the enormous potential of the Frankfurt star for around €50m would be huge.
