SANTA FE, New Mexico: The New Mexico Court of Appeals has upheld regulations aimed at reducing emissions in one of the nation's top-producing oil and gas states.
The case focused on a rule created in 2022 by state regulators to reduce pollutants that, when exposed to sunlight, form ground-level ozone, also known as smog. High levels of ozone can cause health issues like asthma and chronic bronchitis.
