Nepal bowler Yuvraj Khatri suffered a horrific injury during his side’s encounter against Bangladesh in the U-19 Asia Cup. Yuvraj was on a roll during the match, picking up 4 wickets and dismantling the opposing batting order. However, his happiness soon turned into sadness as he got injured while celebrating a wicket.
After picking up his fourth wicket of the day, Yuvraj tried mimicking former South Africa spinner Imran Tahir’s running celebration. However, he ended up twisting his left foot and fell to the ground. His teammates looked quite concerned and soon a physio was called on the field to check the injury.
Yuvraj was carried out of the ground by his teammates and Nepal ended up losing the match as Bangladesh chased down the target with 5 wickets to spare.
The defeat saw Nepal remain pointless as they had also lost their opening match of the tournament against Sri Lanka. The loss to Bangladesh knocked them out of the tournament and now they will be playing for pride in their final match of the U-19 event against Afghanistan, who are currently placed at the bottom of Group B.
