So last weekend all premier league captains donned the rainbow armband. With the exception of the Ipswich captain who refused to wear it on religious grounds.
It’s interesting to me that a player/person in general would refuse to wear the armband. I wonder what sort of message it would send out to a teammate or even a fan of the club that was part of the lbgt community.
Bar being homophobic, I’m not sure why he’d have an issue wearing it?
No doubt there’s a debate as to whether football should have initiatives such as the rainbow weekend, black likes matters, the poppy but I really don’t understand how any religion would stop you from supporting people
I wonder if they’ll be much fall out
