Kerry Washington is being honored!
The 47-year-old actress was presented with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday (December 2) in Hollywood, Calif.
Kerry had the support of husband Nnamdi Asomugha, her parents Valerie & Earl, Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes, and longtime friend and collaborator Tyler Perry.
She also had the support of her The Six Triple Eight co-stars Kylie Jefferson, Milauna Jackson, Sarah Jeffery, Pepi Sonuga, and Shanice Shantay.
During the event, Kerry shared the advice she would give to her younger self.
“I would tell her to try to enjoy the journey and to trust that everything’s going to be okay in the end,” Kerry told Extra. “I think sometimes we get so stressed out about whether life is going to unfold in a way that we want it to, but just to, like, take a deep breath and be grateful for where you are in each moment.”
The Six Triple Eight, which was written and directed by Tyler, will be released in select theaters on December 6 ahead of a streaming release on December 20. Watch the trailer here!
