NCIS is one of the longest running shows on television today.
The long-running procedural CBS series, which has been on TV for well over 20 years and counting, premiered in 2003 as a spinoff of JAG, and follows the special agents of the U.S. Navy’s Naval Crime Investigative Service taking on the toughest cases that the military provides them.
The series has been a big success, resulting in multiple spinoff series as well, and is currently in its 22nd season. NCIS is presently on hiatus for the winter. Find out when it’s coming back!
Naturally, fans are curious whether the show will be renewed for yet another season.

As of right now, CBS has not renewed NCIS for Season 23.
While the series is a huge success, CBS has yet to renew for a 23rd season, although it seems like it is all but confirmed to happen, and will likely occur sometime in 2025.
CBS renewed NCIS for Season 22 in April 2024, so we can probably expect similar timing, if not sooner, for news about a probable Season 23.
There have also been no casting updates just yet, so we would expect the potential cast of NCIS Season 23 to look the same, including Gary Cole returning as Supervisory Special Agent Alden Parker, as well as a likely return of Timothy McGee (Sean Murray). Stay tuned as we wait for the official word!
There was a more recent update regarding the current status of the new prequel spinoff NCIS: Origins!
