SAVVY Sky TV watchers can find their channels much faster using a clever telly trick.
It was revealed by a Sky employee who shared it as a way to “quickly find your most watched channels”.
That might come in handy this holiday season as we all gather around the telly for some festive watching.
It works using the Favourites feature, which is easy to miss – and more powerful than you might realise.
In a handy Sky tips memo, an employee revealed how you could add up to 99 channels to your Favourites.
And then you can simply enter its Favourites number (like 1 or 2) on the TV remote to quickly skip to that channel.
You can also view the Favourites list to see all of your most-loved channels in a single place.
It makes it much easier to find content that you like – as you can filter out all of the other channels that you’d never watch.
The feature only takes a few seconds to set up, but it’s well worth it if you’re a telly super-fan.
Setting up Favourites varies slightly depending on the device you have.
For Sky Q customers, you have two different options.
One is to go to TV Guide > Favourites and then choose Set Up Favourites.
Alternatively, go to Settings > Favourites, and then select Set Up Favourites.
“You’ll be offered a list of channels to add to your Favourites, based on what you’ve watched before,” the anonymous Sky employee explained.
“Each channel you add will be given a number from 1-99. From there you can choose to Change list or Save list.”
Once you’ve picked out your channels, you can then save the list.
You can also re-order it before hitting Save and Finish.
It’s possible to edit the list at any time, so don’t worry too much about getting it right on the first go.
For Sky Glass or Sky Stream owners, it’s a slightly different method.
Press the Home button on your Sky remote, then scroll down to Settings.
Now select Viewing Preferences > Manage Favourites, and then add channels from the list.
Once you’re done, just press Save List.
Accessing your Favourites is also very easy.
You can see shows from your Favourites in the What’s On Now and Next rail on the Home.
Or you can go into the TV guide and choose the Favourites option.
If you’re watching telly and want to quickly navigate to a Favourites channel, just press its number on the remote.
So if you press “9” then you’ll go straight to the ninth channel on your Favourites list.
You can order them so that your most beloved channels are at the very top of the list.
