Despite the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reportedly accepting the hybrid model for the ICC Champions Trophy, the future of the tournament remains to be uncertain. New reports have emerged stating that BCCI does not want the ICC to accept the PCB’s demands of not letting the Pakistan team attend any major tournament that will be held in India till 2031.
Amid all this chaos, sources have told Geo News that all of India’s matches in the Champions Trophy, including thye marquee clash against Pakistan will be played in Dubai. Along with this, Pakistan will also play their matches in Dubai which are scheduled to be played in India.
With discussions going over the best possible way to host the tournament, UAE ambassador to India, Abdulnasser Alshaali expressed his desire of hosting the India-Pakistan clash in Champions Trophy.
“Why wouldn’t we? We have always hosted such games. We will continue to host such games. The UAE is open for business and open for sports,” Alshaali told ANI.
This will not be the first time that the Indian team won’t be travelling to Pakistan in order to participate in a tournament as in last year’s Asia Cup, the hybrid model was imposed and the Men in Blue played all of their matches including the final in Sri Lanka.
