Tottenham Hotspur will find out who their opponents are in the Third Round draw of the FA Cup this evening. Here is all that you need to know about when the draw is, where it will be held and how to watch it.
Given Tottenham’s inconsistency in the Premier League this season, a top-four finish looks difficult for the North London side.
The cup competitions thus become all the more crucial for the Lilywhites this campaign, particularly given Ange Postecoglou’s bold declaration about always winning a trophy in his second season.
While Spurs are going strong in the Carabao Cup at the moment, the FA Cup is undoubtedly the bigger prize, given the prestige of the competition and Tottenham’s history in it, with the club having won it eight times.
The draw for the Third Round of the FA Cup will begin at 7 pm UK time this evening and will take place at Old Trafford. The draw was shown live on BBC Two in the UK.
The Third Round is where all the Premier League and Championship clubs enter the competition.
Those teams will be joined by the teams lower in the footballing pyramid who have made it past the first two rounds.
A total of 64 teams will enter the third round of the competition, with their respective balls for the draw being numbered in alphabetical order. Tottenham will be ball number 40 in the draw.
Another game is the last thing that Ange Postecoglou needs at the moment, given Tottenham’s injury crisis and the fixture pile-up.
However, Spurs fans can breathe easy as the club will not be in FA Cup action until the start of the New Year, with the Third Round set to be played over the weekend of Saturday 11 January 2025.
