FLOG It! star Michael Baggott has reached out to fans from his hospital bed after suffering from a stroke.
Michael shared a worrying video while bed bound and told his social media followers he was “dying of thirst”.
In a desperate plea, Michael – who says he has been in bed for five weeks – claimed he had hardly been given any water by hospital staff.
Almost whispering, the antiques expert said: “It’s been a week now and I’ve been able to take fluids for two days. I was left without any water at all and have become badly dehydrated.
“For the last three days, I’ve been given a litre of water, which has been insufficient to stop me being dehydrated.
“The gaps between being given water have been 15 hours, 17 hours with no water, 12 hours with no water and currently 15 hours with no water intravenous.
“I’m dying of thirst in a British NHS hospital and no one seems prepared to do anything about it.”
Michael’s fans were quick to rush to show their support, with some even turning up at the Good Hope Hospital in Birmingham.
One asked on X, formerly known as Twitter: “How are you now?”
The silver specialist replied: “I’ve been better.”
Michael also confirmed he was in the ‘stroke’ ward, adding: “Into my fifth bed bound week I’m afraid!”
On Sunday, the star posted another concerning video in which he praised the nursing staff at the hospital and junior doctors as his “saving grace”.
But he added: “They all want to help but can’t. The senior doctors and senior managers who I never see always refuse water and refuse treatment.
“One told me if I don’t ‘buck up my ideas’ in three weeks, I’ll never able to walk again. Of course the junior staff told me that was nonsense.”
Thankfully, Michael has now recorded a third video from his hospital bed and sounds much more chipper.
Speaking on Sunday, he said: “Hydrated at last, Radio 3 blaring and slightly happier and slightly more hopeful.
“Thank you to everybody who either came or sent a message. Hopefully the way back starts now.”
Replying, someone told him: “You look a lot better, Michael.
“I hope you can get out soon. You seem like a fine bloke with brilliant expertise & one of the best Twitter presences going.”
Another chimed in: “Take care Michael, the world needs you back on top form, we are missing you. Speedy recovery.”
And someone else told him: “Great to see a positive post! Hang in there!”

Michael’s love of antiques began when he was a school boy and he has forged a successful career out of his passion.
He previously hosted the BBC show Flog It! and has an expertise in antique silver, smallwork, boxes, early spoons, provincial and continental silver.
Sadly, Flog It! was dramatically axed by Beeb bosses in 2018 to make way for a “new generation” of daytime programming.
Meanwhile, in January this year, Michael found himself at the centre of a sick death hoax and was forced to speak out and confirm he was alive.
