PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Officials are investigating after a rollover crash, which may have been related to a street racing event, killed a teenage boy in North Portland Saturday night.
Just after 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a crash at North Marine Drive and North Leadbetter Road.
On arrival, they found a vehicle had been involved in a rollover crash and a teen dead at the scene.
Officials say the driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. However, police say believe the driver may have been involved in a street racing event.
Some who were at the event and witnessed the crash remained on scene as well, but police believe there may be others who left without talking to officers.
As a result, they are encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
According to PPB, this is the 65th traffic-related death this year in Portland and the fifth in the past ten days.
