The race for one of Tottenham’s top midfield targets is now heating up, with another Premier League giant now reportedly entering the equation.
Malik Tillman’s list of admirers is growing by the day and one can understand why, with the PSV Eindhoven man having been one of the stand-out players in Dutch football this season.
Not only has the versatile attacking midfielder managed five goals and an assist in the Eredivisie, but more consequentially, he has three goals and two assists in the Champions League so far (Transfermarkt), demonstrating that he can make an impact on the biggest stage.
It was reported earlier this week by TBR Football that Tottenham and Aston Villa are both plotting moves for the 22-year-old in January.
GiveMeSport have now revealed that Spurs and Villa have now been joined in the race for the midfielder’s services by Man Utd.
Ruben Amorim is thought to have given the green light for United to pursue the USA international, with a three-horse race now emerging for the player.
The outlet adds that the Manchester club are now considering testing PSV’s resolve with an offer for Tillman, but they are aware that the pursuit will be ‘complicated’ since Tottenham and the Villans are also circling.
GiveMeSport make it clear that the Premier League trio may not find it easy to prise away the attacking midfielder from the Philips Stadion.
This is because PSV are in a strong negotiating position at the moment, with the American having three and a half years left on his current contract.
The outlet adds that meeting the Dutch club’s big demands for Tillman ‘could prove a problem’ for the English sides.
