FOXBORO, Mass. — Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo said Jabrill Peppers would return to the gameday roster when ready, and the veteran safety is healthy enough to do so.
Peppers, who was removed from the Commissioner Exempt list Tuesday, is active for New England’s matchup with the Indianapolis Colts at Gillette Stadium on Sunday. He was initially listed as questionable due to a knee injury.
Peppers missed the Patriots’ last seven games. He was placed on the Commissioner Exempt list on Oct. 9, two days after he appeared in Quincy District Court and faced multiple charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The league’s investigation into Peppers will continue and he has a trial date set for Jan. 22. Peppers’ attorneys have strongly refuted the allegations.
Marte Mapu is a healthy scratch with Peppers’ return. Veteran wideout K.J. Osborn also is a healthy scratch.
DeMario Douglas (ankle), Kyle Dugger (ankle), Christian Elliss (knee), Anfernee Jennings (knee), Vederian Lowe (shoulder), Sione Takitaki (knee) and Deatrich Wise Jr. (foot) are all active after being listed as questionable. Wise was inactive in each of the last two games due to his ailment.
Here are the inactives from the Patriots:

And the Colts’ inactives:
