Match Report: Dartford FC 4-0 Bromley FC Women

Another Sunday, another home game and this one saw the Darts return to cup action as we welcomed Bromley FC Women to Princes Park.
Darts started this game very brightly and created several good chances within the first 15 minutes. The best chance came in the 10th minute, a good move from the home side found Shauni Griffiths in space. The Darts midfielder fired towards goal, but the shot went just past the post.
The relentless attacking play from the Darts was to pay off shortly after. In the 14th minute, a great move from the Darts saw Shauni Griffiths go through on goal. The Darts midfielder took her chance and poked the ball beyond the Bromley keeper and we were ahead.
The home side continued to play on the front foot and we doubled our lead ten minutes later. In the 24th minute, a great pass from Abbey Davies found Brionne Fowle inside the Bromley box. The Darts midfielder controlled the pass well and fired home to put us 2 goals to the good at half time.
The second half began similarly to the first half and the Darts extended their lead early in the second half. In the 50th minute, a cross from Ellie Dolby found Amy Russ in space inside the Bromley box. The Darts forward connected well with the cross and fired home to put us further ahead.
The visitors created a couple of half chances midway through the second half. In the 67th minute, the visitors regained the ball deep inside the Dartford half. The Bromley midfielder tried to catch out the Dartford keeper from distance, but the effort on goal was gathered by the Darts keeper.
In the 75th minute, the visitors went close again. A well worked move down the left saw a cross find Charlotte Lee inside the box. The Bromley forward connected well with the cross but the header went just wide off the target.
In the 78th minute, the Darts were awarded a penalty. Jo Woodgates stepped up and converted the penalty to send the Darts through to the next round of the cup.
