Murad Sarmadi, the police commander of Pardis, has announced that one person was killed as a result of a clash between two groups of Afghan citizens in this country.
Iranian media reported on Sunday, December 1, quoting this official, that the confrontation took place in front of one of the futsal stadiums in Pardis city.
According to this Iranian official, two individuals were arrested in connection with the explosion and have been referred to judicial authorities.
This comes at a time when the process of deporting Afghan migrants from Iran has increased in recent months.
Recently, Iran’s Interior Minister announced that the country does not have the capacity to create job opportunities for migrants, and the international community has not taken sufficient steps to prevent the illegal entry of migrants into the Islamic Republic.
According to statistics from Iran’s Ministry of the Interior, approximately 4.5 million Afghan migrants currently live in the country, with legal migration documents, long-term visas, and some without any legal documents.
The recent clash between Afghan citizens in Iran highlights the growing tensions within migrant communities, exacerbated by the country’s increasing deportation efforts. With over 4.5 million Afghan migrants residing in Iran, both legally and illegally, the situation reflects broader challenges surrounding migration, job opportunities, and international support.
As Iran faces mounting pressure to manage its migrant population, the need for a coordinated global response to address these issues and prevent further violence remains critical.
