Mandya district police arrested Shivanna for attempting to smuggle marijuana into the district prison for his son, Madhusudhan. Shivanna, unknowingly carrying the contraband hidden in a bag provided by Madhusudhan's friend, was caught during an inspection. Prison superintendent Lokesh lodged a complaint, leading to Shivanna's arrest and a body warrant issued against Madhusudhan.
