DANIEL Craig says the heavily criticised Bond film Quantum of Solace was not up to scratch because the script was not ready when shooting began — and he ended up writing a lot of the film.
The movie was Craig’s second outing as 007 after Casino Royale and the script was delayed by a Writers Guild of America strike.
Craig said: “Difficult second album — f***ing nightmare.
“Paul Haggis did a pass on the script.
“Then he went off and joined the picket line and we didn’t have writers.
“We should never have started production.
“I ended up writing a lot of that film, which I probably shouldn’t say.”
He added on the Awards Chatter podcast: “There are some amazing stunt sequences in it but it just didn’t quite work.
“The storytelling wasn’t there.
“That’s a lesson — starting a movie without a script is not a good idea.”
