HUTCHINSON, KS. (KSNT) – Looking for its first state title since 2019, Centralia football fell short in the 1A championship game Saturday.
The Panthers lost to defending champions Conway Springs 41-6.
The Cardinals scored first but Centralia responded to trail just 7-6 after the first quarter. A Conway Springs defensive stand at the end of the first half left the Panthers trailing 21-6 at the break.
Centralia couldn't find the endzone in the second half as the now back-to-back 1A state champion Cardinals drained the clock out.
Centralia ends its season with an 11-2 record, Conway Springs finishes undefeated at 13-0.
