Tottenham Hotspur take on Fulham in the Premier League this weekend as they look to make it back-to-back victories. Let’s take a look at our predicted Tottenham XI for the London derby.
Goalkeeper: Fraser Forster had a fantastic night against Roma on Thursday, setting him up perfectly for a stint between the sticks in the absence of injured Guglielmo Vicario.
Right-back: Pedro Porro starts at right-back as usual, but it does beg the question – when will Ange Postecoglou actually give this man a rest?
Centre-back: Radu Dragusin starts once again in the heart of defence as Cristian Romero is not quite ready to start. The Argentine could return next week though.
Centre-back: Ben Davies will continue to deputise for Micky Van de Ven until the Dutchman returns from injury, which hopefully won’t be much longer now.
Left-back: Destiny Udogie starts at left-back after getting a rest in mid-week against Roma. He put in a superb and solid display against Man City last time out.
Pivot midfielder: Yves Bissouma continues to replace Rodrigo Bentancur as he sees out his seven-match suspension.
Central-midfield: James Maddison gets the nod over Pape Matar Sarr this week, with Postecoglou hardly able to bench the midfielder after his brace against Man City.
Central-midfield: Dejan Kulusevski is the first name on the teamsheet at the moment. Even if Pape Matar Sarr also starts, the Swede will be pushed out to the right. I cannot see him being benched under any circumstances.
Right-wing: Brennan Johnson scored once again for Spurs in the Europa League on Thursday and will be a constant threat at the back post against Fulham.
Striker: Dominic Solanke is in need of a rest after his insane workload at the start of the season, but with Richarlison out injured and Will Lankshear suspended on Thursday, that rest didn’t come this week.
Left-wing: Heung-min Son starts on the left side of attack as usual, but there is a pattern of him only playing 60-70 minutes at the moment.
