Somebody is going to be popular on campus this weekend
We’ve seen several great buzzer beaters lately, notably two by former Blue Devils as Jeremy Roach hit one for Baylor and Jaylen Blakes knocked one down for Stanford.
Well here’s another as Zack Austin pulls off a beautiful game winner for Jeff Capel’s Pitt.
Toss in that it’s in overtime, on the road, and over a pretty good team from a solid conference (Ohio State and the Big Ten) and he’s really done something.
The play is a bit of a variation of what Villanova did to UNC to win the 2016 national championship: instead of heading straight towards the top of the key like Villanova did, Jalen Lowe edges to the left and Austin comes up the middle late.
What’s really cool is that he knows it’s going in: just look at his body language. It’s really cool to see.
Well, unless you’re a Buckeye partisan anyway.
