According to Jeff Passan of ESPN, the Dodgers signed Tommy Edman to a five-year, $74 million contract extension. The deal runs through 2029 and has a sixth-year team option. The longtime Cardinal had a .711 OPS in the regular season with the Dodgers and played a big hand in eliminating the Mets in the NLCS, recording a whopping 11 RBIs in the series and being named NLCS MVP.
Edman’s contract includes $25 million in deferred money to be paid out over a span of 10 years, says Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.
