India unveils NEW ODI jersey with tri-colour tribute ahead of ICC Champions Trophy 2025
New Delhi: While the hosting rights for the Champions Trophy (CT) 2025 are still uncertain, the Indian cricket team is preparing for the tournament with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unveiling a new ODI jersey that features a special tribute to the national flag.
On Friday (November 29), BCCI secretary Jay Shah and Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur unveiled the new ODI jersey. The kit features a tri-colour gradient on the shoulder, while the rest of the design maintains the traditional light blue colour.

Before the Champions Trophy, the Men in Blue will debut the new ODI jersey in a home series against England, starting on February 6. However, the first appearance of the new kit will come on December 5 when the Indian women’s cricket team wears it for the first of three ODIs against Australia in Brisbane.
The Indian men’s cricket team will play only three ODIs in 2024, against Sri Lanka, and will wear the same kit used during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
Before the 2024 T20 World Cup, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team unveiled a new T20I kit, which broke tradition by featuring saffron on the shoulder and sleeve areas, instead of the usual all-blue design. This rare kit reflects the team’s dynamic and evolving identity in the shortest format of the game.
India will aim to clinch the Champions Trophy title after a 12-year gap, having last won the prestigious tournament in 2013. The team will be looking to bounce back from their defeat in the 2017 final against Pakistan.
Under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, India will also aim to secure their second consecutive ICC trophy, following their triumph in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Meanwhile, the Indian women’s team will have plenty of opportunities to sport the new kit, as they are scheduled to play nine ODIs in the coming months. After their tour of Australia, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will host West Indies and Ireland for three ODIs each.
