HUTCHINSON (KSNT) - Nemaha Central fell one score shy of winning its third-straight 2A state title on Friday night.
Undefeated Southeast of Saline took down the Thunder 36-28 in the 2A state championship at Hutchinson Community College. Nemaha Central scored a touchdown to tie the game at 20 with just over 11 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Trojans took over during the final stretch.
Southeast of Saline maintains a perfect 13-0 season, while Nemaha Central finishes the year 11-2.
This marks just Nemaha Central's second loss in its past 39 games.
