Set to be the sixth terminal at the airport, work has already started on what will become Terminal F.
Inside will be 15 gates, although this will have capacity to expand in the future.
A 400,000sqft concourse will also connect to an expanded Terminal E via the Skylink light rail system.
A new station will be built as part of Terminal F.
It is the first entirely new terminal in nearly 20 years for the international airport.
It hopes to be complete by 2027.
And other parts of the airport are being upgraded too with Terminal A and Terminal C are both being expanded.
Once complete, there will be 24 new gates at Dallas Fort Worth.
Dallas Mayor Eric L Johnson said they were excited for the expansion, adding: “This new terminal will be another important gateway to our thriving city, enhancing and growing connectivity to and from Dallas.”
Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker backed this up, saying: “As one of the fastest growing cities in the country, we are excited to prepare for the future with DFW Airport, further connecting the DFW Metroplex with the world.”
Brits can currently fly direct from the UK to the huge airport.
Taking just over ten hours, the British Airways and American Airways route operates five times a day from London Heathrow.
As the third largest airport in the world, it only opened in 1974 but is now a major hub for connections.
