New Delhi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is not ready for the hybrid model. Now the International Cricket Council (ICC) will hold a meeting with all the boards on Saturday, November 30 and take a decision on the Champions Trophy. This has been revealed in a report. Let us tell you that the Champions Trophy is to be held next year, but the ICC has not yet announced the schedule of this tournament. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already refused to send the Indian team on a tour of Pakistan. At the same time, the PCB has also not yet agreed to the hybrid model. Amidst this deadlock, the ICC called a meeting of all the boards on Friday, in which the schedule and venue of the Champions Trophy were discussed.
Pakistan were solely selected to host the Champions Trophy but the BCCI refused to send their team to their neighbouring country due to security concerns and requested for a hybrid model, where the Indian team will be playing all their matches at a neutral venue.
However, India’s stance to not send their team to Pakistan triggered heavy criticism from the PCB who were adamant about hosting the entire tournament. The ICC had asked the PCB to consider and provide their final confirmation on the potential hybrid model but the Pakistani board remains silent.
On the other hand, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has stayed firm on their decision not to send their team to Pakistan.
