The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
Much quieter weather than what we had on Thanksgiving! Temperatures will be in the 30's for much of the day, perhaps briefly touching 40 in and around Albany this afternoon. There could be a few flurries at times, but they won't amount to much.
We expect cold and breezy, but otherwise quiet conditions locally over the weekend. It's a different story for other parts of the state. Major lake effect snowfalls are expected in the suburbs south of Buffalo, as well as in the Tug Hill Plateau where several feet of snow could fall!
A little bit of that snow could bleed over into the western Adirondacks - northern Herkimer County is under a Winter Storm Warning (some spots could see up to 2 feet), and Hamilton County is under a Winter Weather Advisory (4 to 8 inches could fall), both in effect through Monday morning.
We could all see a few flurries on Monday and Tuesday, with cold mornings featuring lows in the teens, followed by chilly afternoons with highs in the mid 30's.
Wednesday and Thursday could feature more widespread snow showers, though it appears to be less impactful than yesterday's messy storm system.
