A LORRY full of sawdust has burst into flames on a major motorway sparking travel carnage for thousands.
The M62 is closed eastbound between junction 22 for Saddleworth and junction 24 for Huddersfield and Halifax.
Pictures show the shocking moment a lorry, full of sawdust burst into flames.
The photos were posted to social media at 10:20am on Friday, November 29.
The flames engulfed the cabin of a large green van and white HGV.
NRIX later confirmed to YorkshireLive: “All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to lorry fire on M62 Eastbound from J22 A672 (Rishworth Moor) to J23 A640 New Hey Road (Huddersfield).
“All traffic was held around 10:25am.”
Drivers have been warned by National Highways to be careful as the lorry was carrying sawdust and fire has spread to the embankment of the motorway.
The disruption is expected to continue for some time while the fire service put out the blaze.
