SPOTIFY has told users that “now’s the time” to check their app, in the clearest sign yet that Wrapped is right around the corner.
The highly-anticipated annual Wrapped experience shows Spotify users their most-played musicians, songs and music genres over the past year.

But users will miss out on a “fully optimised” Wrapped experience if their Spotify app is not up-to-date, the music streaming app has warned.
“One of the keys to getting the best Wrapped experience is making sure your Spotify app is up-to-date,” Spotify said in a recent bulletin.
If your phone is set to automatically update the app, then you need not worry.
However, if you haven’t manually updated it in a while, then now is the time to do so:
“When the time comes for the big reveal of your personalized 2024 listening trends, you want to be ready,” added Spotify.
“You’ll also be able to easily share your unique finds or fun tidbits from your yearlong listening with friends on social media.”
You will also need to keep the Spotify app updated to access any new features that might roll out.
Spotify has kept the event’s release day under wraps for now, but Spotify Wrapped has been dropping earlier every year.
The once-a-year feature has a different theme each time, with unique time-limited features.
Last year’s theme was “a celebration of the real, the realer, and the realest listening moments that defined our year,” according to Spotify.
It put each listener into one of 12 listening characters, such as the Vampire for those who want to “embrace a little darkness” or the Shapeshifter for people who move from one artist to the next very quickly.
Wrapped 2023 also introduced the “sound town” feature where users were told which global city had a similar listening habits to them.
Spotify has hinted that the 2024 campaign will be all about “the fans” – although, what this means exactly is still a mystery.
